Refresh, Recharge and Restart

A holiday weekend is a beautiful thing.

Getting together with family and friends to celebrate the summer and ending it the right way--surrounded by the people you love most!

But usually that's not the only thing you are surrounded by..

burgers, ice cream, hot dogs, beer, cookies, etc.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying yourself over a holiday weekend, but when its over the guilt surely sets in and you feel extremely sluggish.

A good way to cleanse your body from all the toxins from the weekend is with a smoothie filled with natural antioxidants and fiber to refresh your body the right way.

Here are 3 Homemade Detox Smoothies to recharge your body:

1. Green Clean Lean Machine

Anything green in your fridge is packed with endless amounts of nutrients. The fruit included in this smoothie also masks the 'green' taste for all the picky eaters out there.

  • 1/4 Cucumber

  • 1/2 handful Spinach or Kale

  • 1/2 Avocado

  • 1 Celery stalk

  • 2 sprigs Fresh Mint

  • 1 Kiwifruit

  • 1 cup Water

  • 1/2 of Granny Smith apple

  • Squirt of lemon

1. Bombshell Berries Smoothie

Berries are your friend when it comes to detoxing because of all the antioxidants and fiber they contain. They’re just the thing your body needs to replenish itself and to help purge toxins

  • 1 1/2 cups Berry Mix (Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries)

  • 1/2 cup Coconut Milk (sweetened or unsweetened)

  • 1 cup Water

  • 1/8 cup rolled oats

1. Cocoa Crazy Smoothie

After a junk food binge, your body craves that sugar for days after. And cutting it out cold-turkey leaves your body in a state of withdrawal, leading to a sugar binge eventually. This smoothie helps incorporate the right kind of chocolate. It is filled with antioxidants and no refined sugar...it even tastes like chocolate covered strawberries. Score!

  • 1 tbsp Dark Cocoa Powder

  • 1/2 cup Coconut Milk

  • 1/2 cup Strawberries

  • 1 cup Ice

Blend everything and enjoy!
